- Performs and supports Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) procedures on acutely ill patients
- Performs and supports Continuous Renal Replacement therapies (CVVH,CVVHD, CVVHDF, SCUF and ECMO) in the ICUs and O.R's by preparing dialysis solutions, setting up machines and attaching the treatment to the patient for 24 hour continuous therapy and serving as a 24 hour resource for the ICU nurses for any alarms or questions regarding the patient's therapy
- Performs technical support responsibilities that include preparing, transferring and packaging dialysis mixtures and baths (acid and bicarb)
- Conducts 5S zone responsibilities
- Teaches and supports other employees and personnel
- Equipment Utilization. Manage and utilize all assistive devices for transferring or lifting patients; manage inventory and supplies
- Compliance & Documentation. Adhere to required department and system protocols and regulations; record patient data in appropriate medical records
- Reports any significant information or change in patient condition to dialysis RN
- Documents clearly, completely, and accurately all pertinent information on patient's manual or
- UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Person) obtained from the ND Board of Nursing
- Lift 50 pounds and move 55 gallon drums of concentrate
- Good manual dexterity sufficient to perform dialysis procedures
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing over 75 pounds
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids on a daily basis
